Do you feel drawn to a slower rhythm of life?
Are you inspired by all things homemaking, homesteading, and “natural living”…but not totally sure where to start?
If so, we should be friends. Welcome!
I’m Susan – a small-town Wyoming transplant, recently married and newly a mom. In this blog, I share my trials, errors, and wins about homemaking, health, cooking from scratch, and trying to find balance between more agrarian, “back-to-the-land” values and modern life. Hopefully reading these pages can help you avoid my mistakes and frustrations, as well as inspire you to really own your decisions as a homemaker!
Full disclaimer…I have a love/hate relationship with homemaking trends.
“Farmhouse life.” “Cottagecore.” “Homesteading.” “Traditional Homemaking.” “Natural living.” In the last few years, a plethora of lifestyle brands on topics including DIY homemaking, holistic health, a revival of “traditional” gender roles/health practices/housekeeping, and living “off-grid” have suddenly sprung to life. On the one hand, I love that all these things are regaining popularity! There is so much beautiful homemaking inspiration being created right now.
On the other hand, trying to navigate the sheer overload of (often contradictory!) ideas and information and cobble them together into some semblance of a balanced life can feel really overwhelming and frustrating. On top of that, it can be really hard to combat imposter syndrome. It’s easy to feel like a fraud. “I mean, I try…but she REALLY knows what she’s doing. I’m not a LEGIT homesteader.”
If you can relate at all, you’re in the right place.
I’m here to connect with other women who are also surfing the learning curve of what it means to nurture a beautiful home and lifestyle for their loved ones. From nitty-gritty details like how to incorporate more nutrient-rich food into the family diet without going insane (and/or breaking the bank), to big, tough topics like figuring out the first few years of marriage, I’m here to wrestle through it all.
And I’d love for you to join me! Consider this your invitation to browse any and all of the posts on topics you find interesting here and then leave me comments. Share YOUR thoughts, frustrations, and homemaking inspiration. Ask all the questions. Maybe I have the answer and maybe I don’t, but either way — I’m glad you’re here!
